A fun, scrapbooking themed mystery. Written with some sass and lots of fun!

Interesting book. Well worth reading. I was quite shocked at the development regarding the detective...and now am quite intrigued to see how this plays out. Mystery wise it is weak. However, the the story has engaging characters and the day to day stuff is quite entertaining. I can really identify with the teenage angst storyline. I was more than entertained by the romantic developments in the last 100 pages. That was the best part of the book for me.
The mystery isn't as gripping as the first one. There is no page turning suspense. But than again this is a cozy mystery with a light tone and is more "fun" than it is gripping.
The crime was interesting (although it happened later than I would've liked) and I didn't figure it out until late in the book (the mention of getting a ride - cinched my suspicions). The mystery kept me engaged when the book was focusing on the mystery. However, the rich characterizations, daily activity, and romance was more prominent than the mystery was. The funny thing is I enjoyed the romance the most and didn't really miss the mystery aspect.

I read the kindle unlimited e-book and listened to the BARD Digital Talking Book witch contains volumes 2, 4 and 5 of the series. I only got through book 2.
I disliked the first book, but figured I would try again. I was wrong. The characters are stereotypical at best and some of the happenings are just hateful, too much for me. Same reason I didn't like the first book of this series.
