A fascinating look into time and space. I'm not entirely sure how up-to-date this is, since the foreword speaks about "newer findings" that have been added, but then the foreword is from 1996.

A Brief History of Time is definitely a good way to start, if you're new to the topic of astrophysics. If you have read several more recent publications, you'll most likely have heard about all the information Hawking gives here.

This book is basically like reading gibberish until you stumble onto the occasional snippet you can almost grasp and it completely changes your understanding of the universe. I had several such moments, particularly on the chapters on the directions of time and string theory.

Interesting to see Stephen trying to reconcile the religion he was brought up with with the science.

Definitely worth a read.

Mind blowing! I listened to this and appreciate the beginning saying to not go back and listen to something you don’t understand, which is a lot of it. The suggestion is to listen to the whole thing once, then go back and relisten to individual areas, or for me the book again! It’s good advice as subsequent chapters somewhat clarify ideas.
I listened to this as part of my 100 book bucket list. I’m a doctor so science is not foreign, but I’m more into biology and have not taken much physics.
I learned a lot and feel like I have a greater understanding of the universe. I appreciate how the Big Bang theory actually supports a God.
I will definitely be listening to this again!!

Very interesting overview and history. I got lost in the final 3rd when the science got too advanced. Imaginary Time!

This book was nowhere near as painful as I imagined it to be. When I picked it up part of me questioned my decision. I hated physics and earth science in high school... Could my love for astronomy prevail?

While there were times I had to reread a page after zoning out, this was a lot easier to read than I expected. It wasn't filled with equations and terms I had never heard of before. And it better explained things like quantum mechanics and string theory... So many times we've heard it on the Big Bang theory!

Overall I thought this was a very interesting read though still a bit too much for me. I'll stick to my Bill Nye books!
