Dry and informative. Just the way I like it.

Another banger of an adventure/non-fiction book from Candice Millard. I enjoyed this one. And really appreciated her statements on why African explorers are rarely (or never) acknowledged.

I typically loved narrative nonfiction but thought this was just okay. The conflict didnt seem to build as much as I thought it would, and the story felt like it was dragging in several occasions.

Some of the characters were more interesting than the events of the explorations. Burton and Bombay held my attention most.

I listened to the audiobook and this is a tough one to rate. The writing was very good, but it wasn't really my interest. 3.5 stars.
