This is the third book in the Goddess Summoning series by P.C. Cast. Having recently read the previous book which focused on retelling the myth of Hades and Persephone, I was excited to read this one because Apollo and Artemis are also favorites of mine in Greek mythology. However, I was sorely disappointed with nearly every page.
I admit I was tickled by the concept of Greek gods wandering around Las Vegas. It really was the perfect setting for fantasies to come to life. But unfortunately, that’s where my positive feedback on this book ends.
First, Pam, despite being a very successful business woman in her 20s, acted like a Mary-Sue the entire time. There was hardly any growth or arc to her character. Once Apollo came into the picture, it was like she ceased to exist without him. Yes, I know this is a supernatural romance series and that genre lends itself to rule breaking, but after reading Lina’s strong character in the previous book, I felt like Pam really let me down here. A hot guy shows interest and boom!, no more focus on or pride in female independence or intelligence.
Second, Apollo and Artemis were just too out of character for me. I know my opinion of this interpretation of them is most likely because I have a degree in Classics, but this book just pushed the boundaries a little too far for my taste. Also, Bacchus’ character, while meant to be the villain for the overall plot, was unnecessary. He is present in the story for less than five scenes, and if he is supposed to be the catalyst for the mayhem that ensues, he should have had more of a hand in the events that followed. He watched from the sidelines, a boring flat character. And why the use of the Roman name when every other god and goddess maintain their Greek names?
Finally, the overall plot. As I said before I was excited to see the chaos gods and goddesses would bring to Sin City, but the action is confined to the bedrooms and to an eccentric author’s private mansion/villa which Pam is meant to be redesigning. Fair enough for the romance aspect, but again, there was substance and real plot to Cast’s Goddess of Spring. Here, there was nothing. And instead of remaining focused on Apollo and Pam’s relationship, Cast switches gears in the middle of the book to focus on Artemis and her flirtations with Pam’s client.
While the idea for the book is intriguing, P.C. Cast failed to deliver an engaging story. Lackluster, predictable characters, a plot that starts, stops, and splits itself, and straying too far from any semblance of original mythological personalities make for a very disappointing read. For these reasons, I gave this book a 1-star rating.

A sexy Twist on stories you already know. I love myth and everything these books represent. Strong Women, the ability to change, courage, and true love. Apollo being romantic and in love after being shown that even he could be rejected, and maybe being a god and having fun everyday isn't all there is to live for.

Loved this books. Loved this series! Its amazing how the author can combine modern and mythical together. This is on my re-read shelf when i'm between books, I don't seem to get tired of reading it. lol

I didn't like the ending of this one. She should have become a goddess, one for the modern world over interior design or something. The ending is way too open ended. What happens after they've lived their lifetime?

This did not end or go at all how I expected it to go. The ending was pretty shocking and honestly I want more! Ugh! I wish the author had written their story after the ending on how it all worked out. Love is worth all risk and all pain. And soul mates always find each other no matter what. I loved this story, though it didn't go the way I was expecting. The journey was everything. Not only did I love Apollo and Pamela as characters, Artemis grew on me too. Her love for Eddie and then her love and despair for Pamela was raw and all encompassing. Hearing Zeus thoughts on his daughter and her changes, made Zeus more human more approachable. There was more to him than what all mythology has portrayed him.

I love Greek mythology this book was an okay read, entertaining enough to keep me going but not enough to make me obsess. I find Cast to be a little quirky at times that can take away from the story.

Really good, wish I had read the previous book first however. I didn't realise there was an order to the books. The ending gave a little to be desired, I wanted to know how her first family reacted seeing as they found a doe instead of her body, it was just a bit as if she disappeared in Vegas. Other than that really enjoyed it learnt a lot about Greek Gods as well. Waiting for my own God now.

Very sweet love story. I would have given it 5 stars but the sex scenes in it were waaaay too descriptive and gross.
