I listened to this on audio and the narration was pretty good. The story itself I had some mixed feelings on. I find this author’s books to be interesting to listen to and the stories to be kinda addictive even though I don’t think they’re particularly complex. I’ve mentioned this previously in my reviews for her Alliance series. I want to keep reading them, but I recognize that there are a lot of issues with the characters, the instalove, the alpha aggression that makes this pretty much a dubcon, and if it’s like her other series I’m expecting there to be repetitive storylines throughout. I could have done without some of the excessive steam scenes, I didn’t think there was much value added in them, and they were borderline uncomfy to read (especially shifted scenes, I had to skip that)

  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated

The same story with different names. Extra boring.

Good read.

This book is Different than all the other Alien romances I have read. I've only read a few of them.

I didn't like it, plain and simple. I sound stupid saying it wasn't realistic as its a paranormal/scifi, but in terms of a humans interactions, it wasn't.

Lots and lots and lots happened, to the point it was too much, and then it ended with a sex scene with no conclusion to their troubles. I was interested in both Cara and Carmen's personalities, but this took me a long time to read and I struggled greatly so I'm unsure if I'll continue at all.

I switched between the audiobook (chapters 1-16) and ebook. The narrator did a good job.

So this was a case of liking the side characters more than the main characters. I think I would read the second book in the series to see if things were better in that one, but there was a lot about this book that bugged me.

I enjoyed the start of this book more than how it developed. Abby and Zoran were fun as they met and before they could fully communicate with each other. But I didn't enjoy how dominating alpha male went when he no longer cared what Abby wanted. He started making decision for her and pretty much decided how her life was going to go without any input from her and her capitulation felt very forced.

I liked things on the other planet as well. Once they were there at least. I just didn't particularly like how they got there.
