I did not like this book as much as the first one. It was lacking the fun and chaos of the Hurlihy family. It all just felt forced.
It was weird picking up an imaginary 6 months later and having 12 years of technological advances in the world.
This was going to be my trilogy series for the 2015 PopSugar Reading Challenge. But I can't find the third book at the library in either book or ebook format. So I'm switching to another series.

Claire Cook gives us another reason to love the Hurlihy family & her incredible writing. It is so easy to see ourselves and our family in her book. Sarah's internal dialogue feels like it comes straight from my own head. This book made me laugh out loud. I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

Claire Cook has once again given us an entertaining look into the world of reinvention through the hilarious struggles of preschool teacher Sarah Hurlihy. Anyone who has a large family will empathize with Sarah as she deals with her father's latest dating mishaps and her intrusive sisters, all the while trying to sort out her own mixed up relationship. Sarah and her sisters feel like close friends. Sarah steals our hearts once more as she deals with the challenges of a long distance relationship and the hilarity of a less than romantic weekend at Doggie Camp. Claire Cook has such an upbeat style, it is always a pleasure to escape into her stories. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. If you want a fun escape, you will love this book. I can’t wait to see what happens next for Sarah and John.

Claire Cook has done it again. Must Love Dogs 4 - Bark and Roll Forever is another fun visit with the irrepressible Sarah Hurilhy and her family. Sarah is such a wonderful main character, with all of her quirks and personality flaws, she is so likable and real. In this book Sarah and John have made plans to move in together, but the challenge is finding the right place, and they are quietly trying to have a baby together. As they begin their search, Sarah's ex-husband's new wife manages to push her way into the process by finding buyers for Sarah's current place. Time is running out, and with very few options open, Sarah and John decide to move in with Sarah's dad temporarily. The usual Hurlihy family hijinks include Sarah's dad being involved with a group of women who run the "Bark and Roll Forever" dog-walking business.
Sarah is consumed with self-doubt that she has waited too long to begin trying to have a baby, so naturally she is surrounded by pregnancy, from her co-worker at the preschool to her very own niece. Even her ex-husband's new wife is expecting.
Bark and Roll forever is like a visit with some cherished old friends. Claire Cook does an amazing job of keeping the story fresh and interesting, while staying true to the Hurilhy family charm. You can't help rooting for Sarah and John, and cheering along with them once they finally find a solution to the their housing dilemma.
You will want to add this book to your list of beach reads for the summer!

Opening a Claire Cook book is like spending an afternoon with a good friend, and her newest book is another fun, light-hearted and uplifting read. I was lucky enough to get an early look at the latest installment of the ongoing 'Must Love Dogs' series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the continuing story of the lovable Sarah Hurlihy, as she and her boyfriend John decide to buy and renovate Sarah's beautiful old family home. Sarah is such a relatable character, and it is easy to enjoy her struggles at work, and her large, affectionate, but intrusive family, and mostly her kind loving nature. Cook has readers cheering for Sarah’s triumphs and empathizing with her struggles.
Claire Cook has a unique ability to present tough issues in a non-threatening way. As Sarah struggles with her desire to get pregnant, she deals with her fears of never becoming a mom by pouring all of her mothering on a family of cats living under the front porch. Sarah and John learn how to set boundaries with Sarah's large and close-knit family, finding ways to carve out time for themselves, but all of the chaos takes a toll on their relationship.
I really enjoyed this book, I laughed out loud at Sarah's quirky personality and her hilarious misadventures. Must Love dogs: Who Let the Cats in? is a perfect summer beach read.

I really loved Must Love Dogs - the book and the movie. It's hard to have a second book deal with the romance from the first book not going so well. That's not what I'm looking for in a romance. But as a contemporary women's fiction, I can see the attraction - things do not always work out as smoothly as we'd like. I felt like things were kind of rushed and there's definitely a bit of a cliffhanger. Luckily I have book #3 on my shelf.

If you like preschool and self-sabotage in your relationships then this is the book for you. I will admit to skimming. We do get a HEA so all ends well.
