Maybe my expectations of Malzieu were too high... but the ending killed me.
I prefer happy endings

Very whimsical with beautiful descriptions and original metaphors and similes. Quite instantly I found myself heavily invested in Jack's health and well-being.

The story of his love for/with Miss Acacia is quite easy to relate to, despite not having a mechanical heart. It's a whirlwind, it's painful, it leaves him wishing never to be in love again, and haven't most of us been there before?

The ending was a bit clumsy, but it was a fantastic and fun read.
