A years-long curiosity finally settled. Rudimentary work all around. Characters never elevate beyond basic archetypes, and the story lacks an emotional core, not to mention dumping most of the lore in the 11th hour so it feels like an ass-pull. Art's decent, but very much of the mid-2000's hallmarks (over-detailed coloring, "manga" influence by way of Joe Madureira).

A great graphic novel about a teen's journey of self-discovery, insanity and strength. Not going to spoil the AWESOME twist at the ending, but I will say that it made me cheer out loud!
