A fake relationship! And with soooo much adorableness, I can't even :)
Poor Mariely and Cabot--both of them had their (less-than anyway, so it was really for the best) relationship ended in a very public way and with tons of drama (**jazz hands!). This is of course not fun at any time, but it's particularly unfortunate when you're in high school. A small, close-knit high school makes things even worse... But don't worry, there's a fake relationship on deck to make it all better!
I liked that both Mariely and Cabot kept feeling drawn to try and "rescue" the other one throughout the book--it was just so sweet. Even when they barely knew each other, they wanted to make things better for the other one--obviously, the writing was already on the wall for these two! Watching as their interest turned to "like" turned to maybe something else made me not want to put the book down until I'd reached the last page.
Crazy, Stupid, Fauxmance would work well as a standalone if you haven't had a chance to read the other two in the series yet ([b:Ten Things Sloane Hates About Tru|26101040|Ten Things Sloane Hates About Tru (Creative HeArts, #1; Sloane and Tru #1)|Tera Lynn Childs|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1439823868s/26101040.jpg|46044274] and [b:How Willa Got Her Groove Back|28871512|How Willa Got Her Groove Back (Creative HeArts, #2; Willa and Finn #1)|Emily McKay|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1454431585s/28871512.jpg|46520770]) since each book deals with a different couple. If you have read the others, since Mariely's Willa's best friend, you'll get an extra bit of Willa and Finn time in this one (yay!) and there's a brief Tru and Sloane sighting as well.
I can't wait for the next book in the series--it's just so much fun!

Crazy Stupid Fauxmance is the third book in the Creative HeArts series, and the first book in the Mariely and Cabot trilogy by Shelleeroberts. I have still not read the first book in the series, which is the first book in the Sloane and Tru series, but I have read book 2- How Willa Got Her Groove Back, which was the first book in the Willa and Finn trilogy and I have to say, I freakin love the way this series is done. Let me try and break it down for you, because it can be kind of confusing. The Creative HeArts series is all set at the same performing arts high school in Texas. There will be 9 books in the series, and it will center around 3 different couples. Each of the couples will get their own trilogy, and each trilogy is written by a different author. But the books in the overall Creative HeArts series will rotate through each one of the three couples, so no two sequential books will be about the same two main characters.
Crazy Stupid Fauxmance is the third book in the series, meaning that we have cycled through each one of the main couples. Meaning book 4, will cycle back around to Sloane and Tru with the second book in their trilogy. Then Willa and Finn will be up again and finally Mariely and Cabot. Get it? I promise it is less confusing once you start reading the books. I really love that they are all set in the same universe and I love that none of their stories are neatly wrapped up at the end of book one. I loved Willa and Finn's story, and was happy to see them pop up throughout Crazy Stupid Fauxmance. I am loving even more the budding bromance between Cabot and Finn. (Maybe because they are my two favorite characters in the series.)
You all know I am sucker for a fake romance story and Mariely and Cabot are so darn cute together that I really enjoyed their tale. I still think Willa and Finn are my favorite overall, but it is a close call for sure. The books are all told in dual narrative and I love the nods that the authors throw to each other's romances. I didn't see too much Sloane or Tru in this book, which was ok with me because I haven't read their story yet. (but it is next up for me.) You can read the trilogies on their own, but I think this is such a unique concept for a series that it would be best to read them all in their intended order. I love the blending of different authors all playing in the same book world. It gives the readers a chance to really get to know the characters and the universe.
Bottom line: Crazy Stupid Fauxmance is a great book for lovers of the fake romance trope. And if you have not checked out the Creative HeArts series yet, I think you should. Fans of young adult contemporaries will really dig its unique concept and structure. I have been really loving it, and I hope to see more series like it in the future.

* I received this book through Netgalley through the publisher Entangled Teen*
The Why: After a public humiliation of a public break up both Mariely and Cabot think that having a fauxmance is the best idea? Or is it? Especially when fake turns into real feelings. It was fun , lighthearted and an easy read, because I read this book in one sitting.
Characters:
Mariely: After experiencing a bad breakup with her boyfriend of almost two years, she decides the best thing to do is to hook up with someone. Of course being in the theater track at her creative arts high school she needs to follow a script for this fauzmance; but she finds herself quickly getting off script when Cabot is involved.
Mari'd style reminds me of myself with bold out of this century outfits. She reminds me of Lola from Lola and the Boy Next Door with her style. She's also very dramatic (well, she is an actor and also goes to a creative arts school). As her fauxmance becomes real to both parties, she realizes that she has to learn not to care what other people think.
Cabot: Finding out that his heartless, mean girlfriend hooked up with another guy doesn't help a guy's ego. So when Mariely gives him the idea of hooking up and faking a relationship to both get over their exes he jumps at the opportunity and goes with it. But he really doesn't know when he started falling for Mari, but he did and he doesn't know how to make this fake thing into something real. But he knows he wants to "be awesome together."
Final Thoughts:
Full of drama on and off the stage it was a light hearted read that I read in one day. Also be on the lookout for crazy ex-girlfriends, laughs and a faux relationship full of bad deals and real love.

Seriously couldn't put this one down.
If you love books that take place at art schools, guys with gorgeous eyes, stories with diverse characters - including a Mexican-American MC - and fake romances / opposites attract stories, then you have to check out this one whether or not you've read the first two books in the series yet. That said, if you have read the first two books, then you'll get glimpses of some of your other fave characters, like Sloane, Tru, Finn, Himish, and a lot of face time with Willa.
