Fantastic read. My ability to write code has improved. It's easy to lose sight of writing code as an art in the process of dealing with issues every day. I would recommend it.

Code in this book not clean. It is not even close to clean.
Author loves state in classes very much.

It's a good book, but if you've read Code Complete or Code Craft, there's little in this book that is absolutely new. I did find the digs at the ActiveRecord "mixing business logic with DTOs" interesting... apparently Uncle Bob differs from Marten Fowler on this, as Fowler's explicitly complained about people making their domain objects "anemic."
