Unfortunately, this severely missed the mark for me. Hopefully Knud’s story will be better.

Finally, the Nightwolf Trilogy starts! I enjoyed Nago and Halle's story. Loved how they met and fell in love, and how devoted Nago was to Halle. When things fell apart, Nago definitely left me scratching my head a time or two. Like Halle, it took me a minute to forgive him, because his actions were questionable. That whole situation with Eric and Halle's father was beyond crazy, but Nago handled it and got back on my good side, lol.

I must admit that I was a bit more intrigued by Joseph and Maggie's story. I was captivated by Maggie from Page 1, and I'm pretty sure I didn't breathe the entire first chapter. Joseph was a sweetheart! I loved how he treated Maggie and taught her all that he knew, never treating her like a slave. And when he named her! So sweet. I knew who/what he was, and couldn't wait to see how it would be revealed to Maggie. All I'll say is very nicely done, Theodora Taylor! Hope we'll see more from this family in the future.

Another good read! Eagerly looking forward to whatever is next.

What did I think? I thought it was a fantastic read. You have Nago and Halle, who meet as teenagers and form a bond that develops into love. It wouldn't be a novel if there wasn't conflict. It is the reason I kept turning the pages. I was given an advanced copy and asked to check for errors but once I started I forgot about it. There is an additional story that is just as good

I liked it!

Though Ms. Taylor has been on my TBR like forever, I finally decided to read one of her books and I have to say that I really liked it. This is Nago and Halle's story and I enjoyed it. There is a bit of backstory to these two which I have not read, so I need to get on those ASAP. I really adored Nago, Halle's Gummi Bear and thought that Halle was too sweet to boot. There is some mild angst due to Nago's stubbornness and unwilling to share what is going on with him to his mate but it all works out in the end and I tots loved this couple. 4 solid stars!!!

Two entwined love stories. High school sweethearts. Second chance romance. One true love. Fated mates.

Slavery. PTSD. Weird patriarchal shit. Abusive dad. Gambling. Neglectful mom.

Couldn't connect

This one didn't really connect for me. I felt like the flashbacks became too much. Just when I would get into Nago and Hallie's story, it would flashback to Joseph and Maggie. And it seemed like the flashbacks overshadowed the current time period. I didn't feel the connection between Nago and Hallie at all. And we didn't really get to experience them as a couple. It was a lot of "telling" and not enough "showing" for me. Sadly, that means I probably won't read the next book in the series, which is a shame because I'm a big fan of the author's other books.

I love Theodora's books I've been a fan since the Viking Wolf books. The story of Nago and the Handy Princess was an ok love story but what took this book to 5 stars was the way the author intertwined the story with a historical romance . Joseph and Maggie's story was so sweet and so much more than the typical slave romance! When paranormal romance meets historical romance nothing but fire!!!!!
