I Don’t Forgive You by Aggie Blum Thompson was a lot slower than I anticipated. While I really liked the plot, I found the characters hard to relate to and overall unlovable. First, her husband was terrible to her in a really difficult time, to a point where I was 100% rooting for them to get divorced even IF they made up in the end. It was pretty toxic behavior, even under the circumstances of distrust and miscommunication. While I liked the way the book ended, there weren’t many hints or clues that would have led the reader to figure it out. For me, the misdirection was mostly repeating information that was barely relevant to the overall story, and hiding the clue once or twice in the repetitive sections, which led to a twist that, while I didn’t see it coming (due to lack of information), didn’t produce any real surprise. It fell a bit flat to me, but then again, maybe it was because I was so busy hating the husband I didn’t pick up on other more minuscule details.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Death, Emotional abuse, Miscarriage, Misogyny, Sexual assault, Toxic relationship, Dementia, Death of parent, Murder, Toxic friendship, and Alcohol
Moderate: Forced institutionalization

Overall, the book was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat, but I think the title is incredibly misleading because the entire plot is very forgiveness driven from the perspective of the main character, and the wrapup literally includes a message of forgiveness contrary to the title so overall I felt disappointed after finishing the book.
Graphic: Sexual assault and Stalking
Moderate: Addiction, Adult/minor relationship, Alcoholism, Dementia, Alcohol, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Bullying, Miscarriage, and Abortion
