Fast-paced and realistic science fiction--I especially enjoyed the entire book seeming like a report.

The book has a lot of potential and build up, but fizzles out in the last 20 pages.

The first half was an absolute slog to get through. Once they started to investigate the strain, it felt more like the Crichton I love to read. Historically it may be groundbreaking but by today's standards it doesn't hold up.

This was a great book if you love science fiction. It wasn't necessarily lengthly but very detailed, which was much needed. Had it not been so detailed, it would've been very confusing to someone who knew little about that field. Crichton never fails to impress me.
