-still crass and raunchy. i like the tv show better, it tones down the worst of the crap. still intend to keep reading thought.
-this was my first attempt at reading a graphic novel on my kindle. it went surprisingly well. there was some trouble with there not being color because its just a simple kindle. particularly figuring out a scene where being able to see red would have helped. but it shows you the whole comic page, then shows you close ups of each individual panel as you scroll thru. i definitely prefer the print books for graphic novels because i like seeing color. but with the libraries being closed, this works... for now. i do think all the pictures drain the kindle battery faster.

I read this a while ago actually and nothing stands out as particularly memorable, but I'm still saying 4* because of the direction it puts the rest of the story on. Always nice to see a bit of back story and world building especially when it makes motivations clear and empathetic.

Estupendos momentos, en especial la primera gran misión de los Siete ... Ennis nos muestra mucho de lo que en realidad sucedería cuando un grupo de gente con super-poderes, pero sin ninguna preparación, podrían terminar haciendo. Genial.

Oh, The Boys. I feel like I say that every time.
This time around, we have a crisis of faith for Starlight. Given her baptism by fire into the world of how real and terrible superheroes (and men in general) can be, it's not overly surprising and it's interesting to go through.

I could almost do with a little more. At this point, it feels more like the authors saying 'religion is bad m'kay, now she realizes it too', rather than actually working through it just yet.
We'll see how it goes from here.
It's also fun to see how her and Hughie's relationship is growing. They've moved on to the sexin' bits (more on that religious views changing), so of course we get some fairly gratuitous nudity.
Other than that, we get a lot more backstory on how Vought came to be in this universe--as twisted as that is. We also get some of the really twisted bits of superhero lore: turns out that sometimes the Compound V doesn't want to let someone die...

But they certainly don't come back right. There's still brain damage to contend with.
Quite the series.
A few more pictures, spoilers and NSFW:

It's still interesting that they're amped up on Compound V. They're basically supes. Yet they hate supes. It's ... weird. But an interesting conflict.

Turns out Compound V is expensive yo.

That's an interesting character. Comics in comics!

Getting into the Vought as soldiers plotline that came up more in the series. Interesting to see how they do it.

A little slower and denser than the previous volumes, but I really enjoyed where this one ended. I just didn't care for where it began.

I definitely liked this one better than Volume 2 but not as much as Volume 1. I feel that these storylines were easier to follow than the last one, and the illustrations were more consistent.

It was fun getting a bit of the backstory of The Boys and Vought American. Enjoyed this one more than Vol 2.

Rosca conspirativa, 11S, Zeitgeist superheroico y el génesis de toda la mala leche en esta historia. Un volumen más informativo que otra cosa, pero lleno del rencor que hace grande a esta obra.

This volume has some real nasty scenes, all I can say is poor poor Hughie, that's not what you want to wake up to. Haha
Some interesting concepts in this issue, which is mainly focused on giving you some background on the boys and the seven. Alternate reality stuff on 9/11 was really messed up. Why are super heroes so dumb?
On to volume 4!
