Though I feel like the book itself is poorly written, full of grammatical errors, and cliches, it is also full of character. I find myself doing exactly what the author intended; loathing Gareth and loving everyone else. And though the plotline is generally predictable, based on its similarity to every other book of this genre to come before it, the predictable advances in the plotline usually come about in ways I did not forsee, so I appreciate the thought that went into these twists.
One other thing that bothers me about this book is the sterile love scenes. They sound as though they were written by an author who has never before tried to include romance in a novel. However, from what I understand, that would not be true, so it bothers me that these scenes come off in such a way.
Overall, however, I am enjoying the series.
Off to book three!

Short but decent

Long on plot, short on character development and number of words. Good enough for now, but not sure I'll have the fortitude or cash to finish the series.
