I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love how the plot thickens & some characters start pondering on things that we ( as the reader ) already know!

I love the imagery that the Wall of Rain created towards the end of the book, sounds magical but it acts as the doorway to a sea of monsters… I’m more worried for Khron than I am for Thor

I believe I read this one pretty quickly after I finished the 1st. I'd say I was pretty keen on this series but for some reason I haven't carried on. I may try and revisit these.

The issues that the first book had with being so repetitive were gone in this book, but the awkwardness and secondhand embarrassment were still strong. This is literally right after the 1st book, no time has passed.
Thor wakes up in prison and uses his powers to help his cellmate not get his hand chopped off. He escapes, goes to Reese for help, and goes to see the king who has not died yet. The king tells him he knows it's not him and to avenge him and then dies. Thor is cleared of the crime since he was in prison at the time of the attack and returns to the barracks. Garrath is in his room happy that he wasn't able to poison his dad, then his boyfriend comes running in saying he killed the king and now he's happy because he's going to be king because Gwen was never ratified by the council. There is a funeral then the council meets. The siblings try to speak out for Gwen but the old men on the council forbid it and crown Garrath. Meanwhile, their enemies are meeting but right before they meet the McCloud's get word of the kings death and stall because they want to invade on their own because Garrath is the worst and will be a horrible king. Thor and Gwen spend some time together before he has to leave with the army for the hundred days. Garrath decides to pin the murder on Kendrick, his older brother and everyone's favorite prince. The kings guard shows up at the barracks to arrest him and the entire army pulls out their swords and says try it and the king's guard realizes there's about to be a civil war because Garrath is a big dumb dummy. Eric arrives at a city that has a big tournament and he decides he's going to enter. At the feast the night before he sees a serving girl and decides she is the woman he will marry. Thor and the rest of the army in training are on a boat and they get attacked. And that's where the book ends.
Lots of action and adventure in this one. It advanced the series nicely.

Another excruciatingly bad book. I think this author is banned from my Kindle - unLESS I decide to read them precisely because they're so terrible.

Ends on a cliffhanger.

Interesting story, editing needed

I'm not sure how much editing has been done, but not enough. Good story though. Characters are a bit wooden.
