I read this as a kid and it was a thrill to hear it again in this wonderful edition - the story never gets old.
And after a newer ending stream of more or less successful adaptions as tv-series and films it's nice to see that the original story actually is the best.

Fun little tales! I was stunned that I read next to nothing about Maid Marian though! Thought she’d be featured a lot more.

Worst. Book. Ever! It has been well over two years and I still struggle reading this book!
Still holds up pretty well; I think I may have read an abridged version when I was a child. The audiobook version through Audible Plus was great because of all the singing of verses just like a minstrel. The many movie and television adaptations keep the general gist of the book, but most do take liberties with the book. There is a bit of repetitiveness to the stories, but for kids, that might be okay.

The beginning was very repetitive but in the end it picked up.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a little hard to get into because of the Old English language, but after 20 pages or so I got into the groove of things and was able to read it much easier. It was a fun book. I was surprised that Maid Marian was really only mentioned in passing. I thought she would be a bigger character in the book. Makes me wonder where she came from, or if some movie producer just decided to embellish the character to add a love story to one of the movies.
