Third time around, it gets better. Pretty close to 5, for those who like Buk.

A variety of poems and short stories, ranging from the profound and poignant to their diametric opposites. Not his magnum opus, but fans of Bukowski will find plenty to enjoy here.

Although it's the usual Bukowski affair, you get the feeling from this collection that the man was starting to feel his age and place in the world at this stage of his life. "Talk" and "We Must" stand out as some of the strongest poems in this collection for me, and "Action with a typical manic plot, features some of his most memorable lines.

Not as edgy and raw as his younger work. If you're new to Buk, this might be a good place to start.

I loved it, more than "Fuck machine" and other books from old Chinasky. Imagination, whisky, talent, beer, literary madurity and beer made an awesome book.

My first intro to Bukowski was, oddly enough, at a lounge bar in Las Vegas and this was it. I can not thank that person enough for having a copy on him (I don't know either) and it was so spectacular it was reason to go find so much more of his work.

VERY interesting. This is a charming collection of poetry and a few stories, but it's definitely a bit... toothless for the Buk. Having recently seen "Born Into This" and knowing now about the Buddhist turn he took near the end of his life, this collection actually makes a lot of sense. This book is essentially a meditation on death and his acceptance of it - quiet, pretty and satisfying once you get past the lack of "beershit" contained within.

Recensione Niente canzoni d'amore (senza spoiler)

Ho trovato i racconti angoscianti, a tratti opprimenti.
