I found myself to be most interested in the form rather than the characters or plot. I liked that she wrote with lists and legal documents and art auction catalogs. The characters did not compel me, and it's definitely a character driven plot.

Beautiful sentences, even paragraphs, but as a totality it lost me, I found parts where I had no idea at all what the sentences I was enjoying even connected to the words of the previous pages

3,5⭐, a ratos 4.

I really liked the beginning (voice, characters, setting, themes), but the second half of the novel lost the plot and was too aimless for my liking plus the exoticism of Renee (a dark-skinned woman living in Argentina) made me feel uncomfortable.

2.5 stars rounded up. This book was all over the place in style and plot and left me wholly unsatisfied.

Mysterious book about the world of art fraud.
