Sometimes I need to read a book where nothing bad happens (or, if it does happen, it is resolved within the next few pages). This was it! Sweet and cozy! Gorgeous art! Very interesting world building! I'm excited to read the rest of the series.

A very cute compilation of short stories about besties Hakumei and Mikochi, both of whom are kind of like gnomes, but smaller (mouse-sized). They lead a charming life in the woods, and this follows their various adventures. The translation notes at the end were also very interesting. I only wish it was in color!

this is the first one that's continued where the previous one left off (#4 left off on the train ride to a fishing lake, #5 started with the fishing lake destination). it was also the first one that had a story that was entirely about someone else and completely excluded Hakumei and Mikochi (very cute story about singer Conju and her neighbor Laika)

This installation provided the first time I've seen both Hakumei and Mikochi with their hair pinned up: they have cute little pointy ears! Hakumei also had her hair cut, which I wasn't a fan of because it's far too neat for her personality, but it looks like it's growing back pretty fast.

Cute and well drawn, though lacks narrative structure and the characters are kinda rude to each other. I liked the story about visiting the town; the story about the gambling and drinking was weird, and pushed up the age range its appropriate for.
