I like her style. Very weird but it works. Liked the riff on fertility issues and how even though men were at the front and centre you could tell that the story was about the hidden labour of their wives.

finished this book in 3 days but i need some time to change the status from reading to read on goodreads, lol.

i’ll be honest about this one. i thought these 3 indirectly-connected stories are all a bit strange at, least for me. i just cannot absorb all the stories.

it’s like a typical japanese slice of life book and the writing is pretty simple. definitely good for a light reading.

Strange little book. I grew to like as I read. Super short, quick read.

This little novella accomplished what it set out to do. It’s speculative, it’s pretty sad, yet it’s hopeful.

We follow two couples, how they interact and get on, how friendships sit when you’re married and especially when children arrive. A lovely little bit of fiction.

I admit I am confused (3.5 *); but feverishly intrigued and enjoying the way these stories make my mind continue to create after their endings.
Someone wrote, “just this side of surreal” and I think that is fitting. How close it comes at times made the situations expressed feel tormented.
