The kids in my PreK storytime laughed outloud when the boy shot the monster. This story has a great sense of humor. I like it a lot but I wish they'd make a new one with upgraded colors.

The little boys face totally reminds me of Max from Where The Wild Things Are which I love! Easy to follow story and laguage that makes it great for a young reader. The color palette is great and upon looking at the art again after finishing it, the cross-hatch style drawing is also very reminiscent of Maurice Sendak's book. Love i!

I remember this one from when I was little. I think I liked it then, and I like it now. It’s short and direct and satisfying. The gun, even though it’s a cork gun, is kind of shocking to see in a picture book now.

One of my favorite childhood books. [a:Mercer Mayer|692|Mercer Mayer|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1245185581p2/692.jpg]'s drawing style was a huge influence on my own drawing style. When I was little, I would trace these drawings, trying to teach myself how to draw like him.

A classic story of a little boy facing his monsters/nightmares in the closet.

This was the second book chosen at PJ Story Time. The parent commented that "this was a nice one."
