Definitely an interesting read. It does follow your standard romantasy formula with a no one girl who is deemed special. It’s very SJM inspired with how the story flows. It’s like if From Blood and Ash was written better in my opinion with a less annoying MFC. Ngl, Lore is THAT GIRL. I also love the first line in the book. It’s definitely going to grab your attention. There’s subtle themes of the unfairness of capitalism and classism within the backdrop of the book.  Lore makes it a point to show the difference between her and other contestants just based off life experiences. I’m on to the next book 🫡

It feels so basic. Basic characters, basic plot. First the MMC pov is in third person then suddenly changes to first? FMC is annoying.

Bridgerton meets Hunger Games

Another underwhelming booktok book.
everything that happened was ridiculously predictable from the start and I, for one, did neither like the FMC nor the MMC(s).

I enjoy the banter and the layers of plot. I go back and forth on liking Lor, but I find myself mostly rooting for her. It was a quick read with a good balance of description and dialogue.

Lord is a compelling character with a heartbreaking story. I had suspicions about some of the characters that proved both right and wrong. I can't wait to read the next book!

This book was AMAZING. I loved the characters and the story and I was so intrigued and had so many questions... not in the plot holes or poor world building kind of ways, but rather the "I need to know every detail about this character's life and can't wait to keep reading" kind of way. I bought Book 2 only 10 chapters into this because I knew I would need it immediately and want it on my shelves.
