Fated mates is not my thing BUT men who worship the woman they love? Absolutely my thing. I liked Marielle and her arc. I loved her willingness to work through the incredibly traumatic things that happened to her. (There are no explicit scenes at all but it is made clear that she was abused in every horrible way she could have been.) My biggest gripe with this book (aside from the CONSTANT use of the word "mate") is Callum's willingness to tell her story without her consent. I can let shitty behavior go so long as the author uses it as an example of what not to do but at no point was a character like, "Hey Callum maybe don't go spreading around a survivor's story without their consent, dipshit". So 5 stars for Marielle and Marielle only (also her magic sounded cool as hell). But 3 stars because shame on Callum
