Okay, I never want to be in a hotel when the zombie apocalypse hits.

We are introduced to some new characters in this one, it also takes place at the start of the apocalypse. I spent the whole book in knots wondering if my favorite characters from book one were alive and the way it was all weaved together at the end of this book was perfect!

I still have more questions than answers so onward to book 3!!

Like the other book and the novellas, Patient Zero moved quickly while giving main characters more than one dimension. This book had a Mexican American MC, and continued the racial diversity of the other books. I could not put it down.

I will say skip over the narrator that breaks the 4th wall whose parts are bolded. For me those segments threw the story off track. I also think every black person having "hazel eyes" is redundant at this point. Most of us have dark brown eyes and those are beautiful, too.

That being said this book honors the first and gives you some surprises at the end.

Bring your own Bat!! In book we check up on some old friends and meet some new, but when it comes to fighting zombies you can never have enough. This book hits the ground running and you are hard pressed to keep up with action. And once again, it's not only the zombies you need to watch out for.

So I really enjoyed the first book and the characters introduced. Was a little sad to see we moved away from that, but not for long. Sylvester Barzey’s way of writing characters is impeccable. I fell in love with Cristian and Trinity, and Hector!!! And Cristian’s mental breaks had me in tears. That relationship was too real and I just really was touched by those conversations had. Book 2 was an action packed and emotionally driven hit!!!
