The writing was incredible. I truly hope that Leylah writes more because I am hooked with her style. My struggle was with the overall plot and with the male lead. Simply put, I didn't like it.

I bet if I had read this one way back in 2015 I would have 5 star loved it! Still a good story and I'm glad to mark it off my TBR list.

I literally found this book on the side of the road one day and I thought it was going To be awful.
After reading the first 20 pages I really thought about quitting. All the talk of designer clothes and shoes really isn’t my thing. I committed to 100 pages, but then devoured this in one afternoon. It wasn’t great…but it was an easy read that was entertaining. There were definitely cringey eye rolling moments, but it was a fairly decent storyline. Eh. I’m not mad about it.

First book I've read by this author and I can already tell she's going to be one of my favorites. The Paper Swan gave me AAAAALLLLL the feels! I can tell you right now, you may think you've read this story before but you truly haven't. Something may come close but Leylah Attar's gift for prose and her writing style make this story and its characters unique--at least for me. The ending was satisfying but I'm left wanting more of Skye and her lover (don't want to give anything away). Definitely going down as one of my favorites.

Holy f-n moses...I don't know exactly what to say about this book yet..there were times I wanted to DNF, not seeing how anything could come of what I was experiencing and times when I wanted to crawl in my kindle and live everything first hand. The kind of tale that wraps tightly around your heart and changes the way you perceive things that seem one way.
I knew nothing of the story when I decided to click it...only knowing I had seen a lot of hype about it in my newsfeeds. This doesn't always go over well with me, but I thought what the hell? I don't regret it at all, thankful I took the plunge and experienced this myself.
It's not an easy read, parts of it still don't make sense to me, but over all the message of choose love over EVERYTHING else, don't let revenge, hate or anything negative pave your way left me breathless and completely captivated. A prisoner myself, enslaved in the lives of two people that experienced more devastation in their youth than most people do in a lifetime. At the end of it all was a smile wide enough to let love through, and with time it would shine bright enough to light even the darkest of souls. LOVED IT!!

This was a very satisfying read for me. While I was able to predict the twists, things happened in a way that I wanted them to happen, which is why this was so satisfying. I would definitely read more from Leylah Attar!

This story is not a romance. How anyone can find the violence perpetuated acceptable, romantic or redeemable is beyond me. This trend of writing stories of victims that fall in love with their abusers or kidnappers has to stop.

Love it
This was a very hard and disturbing story at the beginning. I have not expected how hard this would be right at the starting. Skye was an innocent girl suffering between the two persons she loves the most. This book it’s full of misunderstanding, betrayal, revenge and redemption, and with lots of forgiveness and love at the end. I really love and enjoy reading this book and definitely recommended. Just try to read it with an open mind right at the beginning, you won’t regretted, and who knows, you may ending just like me, loving the book.
