Was I ever disappointed in this book. If you’d read my reviews for the first two books you’ll see how much I adored them. This book let me down. I’m actually really upset about it. The first two were great but this one had so much wrong.
First of all the whole book seemed rushed to me. As I was reading I was thinking slow down this is all going so fast. It starts off a whole nine months later when Kate is about to have her baby. That’s a huge jump but I understood that maybe the author wanted the baby to be born for most of it so I ignored that. As soon as she had her baby though things were rushed again! She escapes right away only to go right back. It was all just so confusing for me! I also hated that this book was the exact same as the second! She wants to sacrifice herself (once again) to save the others. That can get really repetitive really fast. I think most of my issues with this book were plot related. It just wasn’t good. It was full of action but really boring.
The characters seemed to get worse in this one too. I loved every single character in the first two but they kind of died. I thought Kate was a great heroine but in this one she was whiny and stupid. She refused to listen to anyone! Since she’s now married and has a akid she’s really full of herself and thinks she can fix everything. I was upset with how little of Henry there was and when he was there he was asleep or something. I love Henry and more of him would have made this book better. James was the same, thank god, as he was a favorite. I hated Walter. I don’t know what was going on with him but he was really stupid. Ava was also really annoying and instead of being a strong goddess she was weak and pathetic.
I was expecting a lot from this book and unfortunately I didn’t get it. I hate disappointing finales.

Firstly I loved this story! The whole twist on the tale of Hades and Persephone is always interesting to read and this is no exception. On the minus side this was the third book in the series and as so often happens the third book wasn't as good as the first and it makes me question if three books are even needed.
So Kate had been kidnapped by Calliope and Cronus in the huge cliff hanger that was the second book and is about to pop with child. It seems like there is no story if someone you love isn't torn away from you, leaving you behind to bring them back. Kate and Henry went through their fair share of apart, together, and apart again so its only natural that this book follows that vein and continues the tradition with their family. This is a highly addictive story technique; even though I figure they will end up happily together in the end I just have to keep reading to be certain, because sometimes they throw you for a twist.
Overall I thought this was an ok book and a very good series, I recommend this series to anyone who likes to read books that retell or play with mythology. A few books I've read that remind me of this are [b:Abandon|9397967|Abandon (Abandon Trilogy, #1)|Meg Cabot|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1324767084s/9397967.jpg|11351526], [b:Starcrossed|9462795|Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1)|Josephine Angelini|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1358266716s/9462795.jpg|10862992], [b:The China Garden|82648|The China Garden|Liz Berry|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1171024515s/82648.jpg|1182296], and [b:Everneath|9413044|Everneath (Everneath, #1)|Brodi Ashton|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1340210035s/9413044.jpg|14297146].

I started this series just as I started reviewing books (I'd hate to call what I'm doing blogging... it's really more of a place where you can read my reviews, but who cares!) and it's always been kind of close to my heart partly because of that reason. I started this book as fast as I could and was immediately transported back into the realm of The Goddess Test series.
But I found this book to be flat in comparison. I'm not quite sure why but I didn't think it was up to the other books' standard. Kate had somehow reverted to the whiny heroine (or at least I did not remember her being this way in the other books) and that annoyed me far more than it probably should have.
At least I didn't guess correctly at the plot like some other readers apparently did. I wasn't shellshocked when Kate revealed her plan but at least I didn't guess it. I think in a way it all played out nice, but I'm not sure I'll read the possible spin-off. At the end it says "This is the end of the Goddess Test series - for now" (or something along those lines) and I think it's enough for me. At least it's enough of Kate and Henry. Although I assume said spin-offs would contain them both, since they are immortal. We'll see. I give this book 3 stars because I liked the series and was invested in the characters.

I started reading this book, but I could not finish it. I'm just irritated at the characters and I can't make myself read anymore. I might try again, but I'm not in love with this book. In my opinion, she should've just stopped after the first one, which was a fantastic book. The second book was okay, but a bit of a let down sequel. The only thing that saved the second to me was Henry's sheer awesomeness. But even he irritated me this time. I'm disappointed by this conclusion.

I cannot believe this book series is over...it saddens me. Loved the book; such a great way to end the story!! and to be honest, I wish it had never ended!! I could read book after book of Kate, Henry, and Milo going on about their lives. I seriously need MORE!! Definitely reading this book series over adn over and over again! :)
