I thought I'd like this book more than I did.

I've read books with the older character/younger character plot before ([b:A Man Called Ove|18774964|A Man Called Ove|Fredrik Backman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1405259930l/18774964._SY75_.jpg|21619954], [b:The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper|26722820|The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper|Phaedra Patrick|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1456116507l/26722820._SY75_.jpg|45981532], [b:Mornings with Rosemary|39654063|Mornings with Rosemary|Libby Page|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1557784574l/39654063._SY75_.jpg|55891179]) and have loved all of their stories. And I was expecting to get the same kind of warm, fuzzy feeling from this book and it fell a little flat.

Doris' story was interesting and I enjoyed reading about all the connections she made in her life and how each one - no matter how long she knew that person - affected her. I was expecting this book to be more about the relationship between Jenny and Doris and instead, it was heavily focused on Doris' life. The way the story was told through the address book was unique, and although this had all the makings of a book I'd love, something about it just didn't hit home for me.

Very soft DNF. Might go back in future. First little bit didn't grab me so I tried something else at the time and then returned to library.
