I liked where the book was going, but I think I picked the wrong time to read it.

This was my first audio book experience!

What I read…or listened to was not good! Coupled with the fact that the narrator was truly awful and sounded like someone acting out a scene in an afternoon channel 5 movie was the author using worlds like “faml!

Then there was the awkward moment listening to the narrator vocalizing the sound of broken glass. It was all just too comical for my liking! I’m no prude but excessive swearing just made the prose feel a little too casual for my liking and I really disliked the writing style!

Another ick that was probably the biggest nail in the coffin for me was the narrator putting on a child’s voice when the main character was calling out for their “mummy” in a flash back- AWFUL!

I might try and read the e book and see if that makes any difference but listening to someone else narrate a book vs my own internal narration just won’t suffice! Thank god I trusted my instinct and sacked this one off and even more that I didn’t buy the damn thing!

I haven’t left a review of this as I haven’t finished the thing and if there’s one thing I can’t bare is uneducated opinions and reviews left by folk that haven’t finished someone’s work.  I stand by what I said above but it’s solely based on half an hour of listening, nothing more!
