(4.5/5 ) This book made me feel every emotion possible. It was such a heartbreaking story. In one chapter I’m big cheesin and in the next I’m bawling my eyes out. Mr. Callahan broke my heart with his letter and Ana was such a beautiful friend. I’m so glad Susan and Elise found comfort within each other. Loved the story.

Reid's writing is capable and engrossing and this story is funny and sad and while the protagonist can be a bit much at times, Reid writes her in a way that even her flaws are understandable and sympathetic even when she really isn't.
The ending was a touch too buttery, but that's honestly a quite forgivable flaw in a book that got so much right. She wrote the present timeline so well that even though the past timeline is needed for the story, it wasn't quite as captivating. I had a lot of fun reading this book (despite its emotional weight for the core of the story) and I'm already looking forward to reading her again.
