I was a bit disappointed with the conclusion to this one. It felt a bit too convenient and there seemed to still be some loose ends to tie up. However, I am still enjoying this series and always glad to get to spend some time with Kinsey Millhone, a character who never ceases to surprise me. This series has become like comfort food to me. Something I can turn to and zip through and not have to think too much about. It is a great series.

The vast majority of the time I work remotely, and I am trying to picture what it would be like if I lit up a cigarette during a meeting. I mean, technically, no one could complain because the smoke isn't in their workplace. But the culture around smoking has changed so drastically that I cannot imagine the outcry over one little Virginia Slims, or Eve 100.

(Remember when they used to make cigarettes for the ladies? That was a weird time.)

(ETA: Good lord, they still do. COME ON.)

A twisty little plot I enjoyed immensely, even while perhaps rolling my eyes at some of the shenanigans all the non-Kinsey characters get up to. The ending uh, I'm not sure I buy entirely, but I enjoyed the smooth heck out of it and I truly did not see it coming in the least.

The last few books haven't been as good as some of the others.

This was a pretty good one, although I can always use more Henry. Interesting that Grafton opened up more about Kinsey's history in this book, I think it will add an interesting dynamic as the books go forward.

Good one. I liked how they tied in stuff with her family along with the Jaffe family.
