The author did an excellent job of wrapping up the stories from previous book. It took me a bit to get into, but the second half of the book was worth the wait. And while I had figured out some of it, at the end my jaw literally dropped open.
All in all, this was a great series. I'm glad I started with The Ambassador's Daughter, even tho it was written after this.

Probably the best of the three connecting books. I enjoyed the Kommandant’s Girl so much, the Ambassador’s Daughter I felt missed the mark but was still good, and this book made me fall in love all over again. I was thoroughly surprised by Marta’s story. I had not liked her character in the Kommandant’s Girl, but her character was rightfully redeemed in the Diplomat’s Wife. Such a great story and loved all the plot twists and turns.

I read it within 24 hours so massive win, but the ending felt a little rushed.

I have to say the book was good but not amazing. It was a little uneven and while thrilling in some parts, dreadfully long in others. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars, however it's definitely not an amazing read, but still considerable.

Super mooi vervolg op "Het meisje van de kommandant" alhoewel je dit boek ook apart kan lezen. Een boek die je niet kan neerleggen omdat er telkens zoveel spannende dingen gebeuren.

It felt rushed but also too slow. Mostly, I couldn’t stand any decision that Marta made.
