It takes one of the supportive characters from the first book and then tells her story as the war ends. This was an historical fiction story that takes place just after WWII. J enjoyed it.

Not so much a sequel to the first book as a book set in the same "world" featuring one of the other character's voices from the first book, and set after the proceedings of the first one. So a part sequel I guess. Anyway regardless of the technical terminology it was very average, and the obvious first twist and then the groan worthy next part were really the downsides in what was an overlong story for what really did not say that much about anything.

Such a great story. The characters were likable. The story sucked me right in. A little bit love story, a little bit spy mission. I got a sneaking sense, fairly early on, about a key factor in the story, which proved correct, but there were at least two twists I never saw coming. This book was easy to read, difficult to put down, sad to see end, and successfully immersed me so well in the story, I would find myself trying to read faster and faster during some the more intense scenes.

Overwrought and almost laughably implausible. Liked the first one better.

I didn't like Marta much in the previous book but over the course of her story in this one, she really grew on me. There were certainly some plot twists in this one that I didn't see coming.

Delightful historical novel which hooked me right away, and then all my chores were forgotten and I spend the entire day reading it. Intriguing characters and fast paced storyline and some twists you never saw coming make it the perfect read for a frigid Moncton winter day. I had no idea until I started to write this review that is was part of a trilogy. So I stopped writing this and requested the other two from the library. It's funny while reading it I was slightly disappointed as I wanted more of Emma etc and now I know why.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Diplomat’s Wife, as I love all of Pam Jenoff’s books. There was more of a twist at the end than I typically expect from her, and I found that I enjoyed it immensely! I haven’t been able to stop replaying the book in my mind since reading it.
