Even in dual POV books, I feel like there’s always a “true” main character, and even though the summary, start, and end of the books are in Oakley’s POV, I feel like Quinton is the true main character. I loved his POV so much and the journey he went on
The relationship is written really well, going from rivals to fuck buddies to more. While I do find it highly unrealistic that they would still be at each other’s throats like this after playing on the same team for three years (and that the coaches and team would put up with it for so long), it didn’t bother me for long
The smut is so good, the perfect balance of tension and emotion and action, and not shying away from getting into it. Also hit a lot of favorite tropes on the head for me, so that’s always nice

It's a nice book all in all, but I like my enemies-to-lovers to contain much more pining and hesitance; I think Oakley and Quinn just dove into this romance the minute the thought entered their heads. Not much happens, the superstition turns out to be the pretext rather than anything else (it doesn't add to the main conflict). I liked how they didn't deny their mutual attraction and acted on pretty much all their desires without second-guessing it every step of the way. It probably won't stay with me for long, but I might one day revisit the series and check out the other books.
If you want enemies/rivals-to-lovers with a bit more substance and less drama, I think "Egotistical Puckboy" did it better.

I’m drowning in him. So much so, I don’t care if it might go against the rules we’ve set out. Nor do I give a flying fuck about kissing him in public, where anyone can watch or judge or feel forced to shield their children’s eyes.
Quinn and Oakley are lovable hockey rivals who find themselves hooking up to keep a lucky winning streak.
Premise: 4/5 - Hockey enemies to lovers. It can’t compare to Heated Rivalry, but the college age players and the lovable jock attitudes are there.
Prose: 4/5 - Good writing. Nothing exceptional about it but nothing bad. Perhaps could have used a little more poetic waxing. Overall clean and tight writing.
Spice: 4.5/5 - Well written spice. Versatile/switching. Believable and steamy. Lost a little because I’d like to have seen more switching. Perhaps it was not always furthering the plot either but spicy nonetheless.
Tear-worthy: No. I did not cry. They were cute and you definitely felt bad for Quinn’s poor family life, but it was not gut wrenching.
Could have used better and more well developed friendships outside of the main pair.
