Even in dual POV books, I feel like there’s always a “true” main character, and even though the summary, start, and end of the books are in Oakley’s POV, I feel like Quinton is the true main character. I loved his POV so much and the journey he went on
The relationship is written really well, going from rivals to fuck buddies to more. While I do find it highly unrealistic that they would still be at each other’s throats like this after playing on the same team for three years (and that the coaches and team would put up with it for so long), it didn’t bother me for long
The smut is so good, the perfect balance of tension and emotion and action, and not shying away from getting into it. Also hit a lot of favorite tropes on the head for me, so that’s always nice

I wish the author focused on Quinton forgiving Oakley rather than having a time jump because that would have been interesting to see. For a book that was pretty much just about the two of them, the characters felt underdeveloped. It would have been cool to hear more about Oakley coming out as gay for instance or even about his relationship with his uncle. I felt like the author missed an opportunity with these characters.

this book had a lot of potential but there were many things… off.
my biggest gripe with the book is that even though quinn and oakley had some cute moments, everything felt too insta-lusty and rushed.
He smiles at me like I hung the goddamn moon for him.
the lack of actual relationship progression was disappointing. i wanted to see them go on actual dates and hangout without them always getting naked. their banter was impeccable though.
the first half of the book was boring. there were some plot holes i couldn't overlook, i.e. quinn's family or the tampered drug test results BUT! the second half of the book was far more captivating, redeeming the storyline, but not enough for me to give this a higher rating.
