I really enjoyed this. I think Chani Nicholas did an excellent job of making this introduction to astrology accessible for someone who has been following her work for a little while but hasn't dug too deep into it. I can only speak for how it's helped me at this level, but I would hope and imagine that for a complete novice it would be really helpful as well. It's just a great practice and theory to add to an arsenal of making sense of the world and our places in it. To understand how interconnected we are. Might not be for everyone, but I really believe it's worth going into this with an open mind because it really resonates. The reflection questions and affirmations were really great for reinforcing the information and thinking through its impact on my life and personality. I say 4 stars, I think, because I would have liked a little more in the wrap up of the book for where to go next, some examples of how to read the rest of the chart. But overall, really enjoyed it, would probably say 4.5 if I could. I wish there were more than 5 stars as options for rating!

Light, quick read based on a “choose your own adventure” style within the basics of your chart. Not for those already deeply into astrology but the workbook aspect is appreciated and brings you into a more self help realm with it. I enjoyed my time with it and Chani, as I always do.

this doesn’t feel like it counts as “reading a book” considering how much of it involves flipping to a section that is relevant to your specific birth chart and then disregarding pages of information.
great introduction for beginners though!

A good introduction to astrology. Note that this book only really explores sun, moon, ascendant, and ascendant ruler, so there’s a lot of your chart that won’t be covered in this text. Chani has a gift for making complex topics very straightforward, and she makes astrology very accessible.

Great beginners book for anyone interested in learning the basic concepts of the astrological signs, their planets, and the modalities, elements, and houses associated. The framework of this book is based on traditional astrology and whole sign houses. It is essentially also a workbook, teaching the reader how to consult their own birth chart and learn about their ‘big three’: sun sign, moon sign and ascendant, and the aspects they make with the other traditional planets.
