This is an excellent introductory guide to your personal astrology. Framed as a “choose your own adventure” style manual, it provides great insight to your sun, moon, and rising signs and gives you the tools to understanding your chart. The section on the ruling planet of your ascendant is also helpful in understanding how other planets in your chart affect you. About as thorough and personally relevant as a couple hundred page book on astrology could be.

The author encourages the reader to get the app that she developed to get their personal astrological chart. That made reading this book much more fun for me. I ended up googling many aspects of my chart and went down a small rabbit hole on the internet. I don’t fully believe/think that astrological charts are predictive of people’s personalities, but it was interesting to read the parts that did line up very well.

A wonderful overview of the basics of incorporating astrology into self-realization, self-actualization, and most importantly self-love.
Using the Whole Sign system and examples of the wonderful Dr. Maya Angelou & Frida Kahlo, this book starts the process of knowing what choices are out there in the stars of our birth and the recognition of our natural gifts, the challenges that make us better, and the compatibility with every possible person and force that we encounter.
It's as close to an astrological reading as I've gotten so far, and all I want is more!

Mostly just wanted something navel-gaze-y, woo-woo, and fun to read whilst living through the weird events of late - this was alright but I wasn't blown away.

I'm sure there are more in-depth astrology books out there, but this was absolutely perfect for me as a beginner. I learned so much about my own natal chart and how to read them in general. I just finished it today and it has already provoked some great self dialogue and conversations with others. Really love that Chani brings anti-oppression into the writing. Can't wait to pass this on to friends.
