This was the first Agatha Christie book I had read in a long time, and I LOVED it. She has such a great way at writing mysteries that feel really cozy.

In terms of this book, I loved that I never really knew who was guilty until the very last chapter. Every time I suspected someone, they would be accused, and then it was uncovered why they were in fact innocent.

Hard to believe this was her first book!

The writing style was very good. It kept me interested, kept me going, and kept my attention. The story was great and I enjoyed reading it.

This audio adaptation is excellent, with an absolute perfect performance by Peter Dinkledge as Poirot. The only drawback to the audio adaptation is the dinner scenes, where the chewing noises were a bit too much. If you suffer from misophonoia, you may want to skip forward during that scene.

This is the story that starts it all - Hercule Poirot's beginnings! As always, I was shocked by the revelation of the true murder, charmed by the quirkiness of Poirot, and engaged every step of the way.
