I have to be honest and say the mystery wasn’t really all that interesting. The best parts were when people made fun of the narrator to his face - especially when he didn’t pick up on it.

I think the book would have benefitted from being a bit shorter. I was beginning to get as frustrated as Hastings when Poirot would have a eureka moment and then just move right on without sharing anything.

A well-plotted mystery with a very entertaining cast of characters, and Hastings's narration and perspective is particularly entertaining, because he never has any idea what is going on! Particular highlights are when Poirot comments that his very nature will help the case, as it will convince the murderer that they have no idea what is going on, and Hastings takes this as a compliment. Delightful, I really do enjoy Christie's very wryly funny style. This book has th  absolute classic 'Poirot gathers everyone into a room and explains the case to them, much to their amazement', and I love it, what a great trope, and 10/10 for creating it here, Christie.

This felt slow in an unsatisfying way and the use of the n-slur and the antisemitism were also unpleasant surprises. Didn't love this one.

Not sure I liked the narrator much, but the twists and turns were very enjoyable.

Not the most engaging read and has a fairly disappointing ending. The narrator was a bit annoying at times too.
