Found the writing a little flowery particularly in it's use of metaphors, and I enjoyed the sections on cosmology better than the social history stuff, but an undeniably fascinating (if a little depressing given his take on the lack of human free will) and understandable book.

Some chapters lost me but i learnt a lot. I somehow didn't realize that we were really going to go on a journey from the beginning to end of timeā€¦ but it was a satisfying concept. On the dryer side

Well written and readable. You often get the feeling that scientists feel the need to voice and distance themselves from the possibility of non-provable subject areas such as various spiritual beliefs. Atoms are 99.9% empty space. Dark energy is invisible. Particles are mindless and act weird. Yet although we all have a mind we don't know what it exactly is or where it's located. Both Darwinism and the various creation stories can both exist without harm. Both physics and spiritual beliefs can co-exist without conflicting. We are better when we imagine all the possibilities and remain open to any outcomes. After all, it's how Einstein approached his journey.

This book veered way off course from where I thought we were going, but I still got some interesting information out of it. Greene shares a lot of stories that take us off-topic often and it's hard to stay focused. I was intrigued by the concept of the book, but the execution fell short.

Super interesting. Better if you have some experience with quantum physics concepts.

This book was not what I expected nor what I was looking for. There's a question about the overall negative reviews, and I wonder if one problem of this book was that it was poorly marketed/targeted/sold?
If you, like me, were looking for a book more about a literal end of time, I recommend [b:The End of Everything|52767659|The End of Everything (Astrophysically Speaking)|Katie Mack|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1574199214l/52767659._SY75_.jpg|59898322], which was great!
