I feel like I should be offended by this book because it seemed like "geek" was used in every other chapter to describe Fee or activities involving fee.
However, I liked this story. I liked how Ash was forced to get to know Fee without all the sex getting in the way.
It was weird how a notorious party boy would fall so instantly for a "geek" though.
But whatever. I enjoyed the story. It had an appeal for me.

4.5. Cute. Loved the angst and jealousy. I did think Fee was a bit of a jerk with his frequent lateness and not getting in touch with Ash multiple times, and putting him on the spot at the book club. Also, Ash really was too pushy at the start, and his friends’s reactions to him annoyed me at first, but I liked it a lot overall. Donovan was such a jerk, I don’t think I would have stayed friends with him. Also pretty sure Ty has a crush on Ash, but it’s not looking like there will be a second book. Read on Overdrive.
Well this was absolutely the perfect palate cleanser after the last book I struggled to get through. I was hooked from the first and it felt fantastic to get my normal quick reading talents back into play. I devoured this one in a couple of hours last night. These two are one of those quirky relationships that while almost unbelievable just work.
Ashley Byrne is a party boy. He likes his hook ups almost anonymous. I quick suck or fuck at the club and a serious of one-night stands has made up his life so far. He loves his job as an apprentice at a tattoo shop and his plans with his best friend Ty to open their own shop. His party life style is an almost nightly occurrence, until the day he helps his brother move in with his girlfriend. When her friend shows up to help set up their computer Ash finds himself struck dumb.
Fee Navarro is a geek. Gorgeous, but a geek. He’s got a great IT job and a wonderful life. Having Mr. Pary Boy Central essentially start stalking him after one meeting isn’t exactly what he’s looking for. Sure, the guys hot, but there’s more to life than a hook up. He’s not ready to let some fly by night affair throw a wrench in things. Yet when Ash doesn’t seem to take no for an answer and keeps popping up maybe he really is serious about taking this somewhere real.
Ok I’m going to come right out with this from the first…I LOVE GEEKS! Of course when you make them as freakin’ gorgeous as Fee over here, well then how could anyone not love them? *le sigh* I absolutely get where Ash was struck numb, dumb, and stupid over this one. His asinine stalking plans are over the top ridiculous, but in the best way possible. After all, one has to get their man…and if he won’t talk to you what other option could you possibly have?
I actually really loved Ash as well. He’s got a little bit of the bad boy in him…Mmmmmmmm tattoos YUMMY! It’s not really his fault he’s never been forced to grow up. When pretty boys just fall at your feet and you’ve never had to work for sex in your life, well there’s absolutely no reason why he would have considered putting some real effort in to anything. I just love how absolutely flabbergasted he is by Fee’s ignoring him. Every little look at me thing he tried just made me giggle.
I understand some people may not like the practical guide sections, but as a geek myself and knowing most of the references (ok so not all the computer tech talking ones, because well computers are evil and make me want to throw things most days) I got a kick out of them. Sure some are overly pop culture and it’s a little unbelievable that Ash would have NO frame of reference for Star Wars, but that’s one of those itty bitty quirks I let slide to make a better story. And of course not everyone cares for those sorts of things so there’s just enough room for a nibble of truth to make it believable.
To quote one of my favorite reviewers on GR, SheReadsALot, this story is “ADORKABLE!” Watching Ash blush and have to put in some effort to win Fee over was great. I enjoyed the fact that this story didn’t have the two men fall instantly into bed with each other. Ash’s reputation cost him something and Fee needed to know where he stood with Ash before he’d really trust him. Of course once they do get together HOT doesn’t even begin to cover it. I loved the fact that both guys are willing to try new things in order to get to know the guy their dating better. Ash especially makes an effort to become a part of Fee’s world even when he doesn’t always understand it.
While I would have loved to have seen some of this story told from Fee’s perspective solely because he’s amazing I kinda liked being as in the dark about what’s going on in his head as Ash was. Granted some of the plot twists like Thanksgiving were pretty easy to figure out and to have at least an idea of what’s coming. Still the ambiguity Fee leaves in things makes it really easy for Ash to jump to conclusions.
I loved all the secondary characters in this book as well. Ash and his brother had such a great relationship and I adored their frequent meetings to receive their parent’s calls from home. Such a sweet way to impart the importance of family for these two. Of course Ash’s group of friends were maddening at times as they learned to look at Ash in a different way, but ultimately they just wanted what’s best for him. If I had one complaint about this book it’s that the cliff hanger of what’s going on with Ty could have used a few more hints so we weren’t left wondering for all eternity. Of course if Ms. Vaughn and Ms. Xanakas really are plotting a sequel I’m sure I’ll get my answer eventually. Please…pretty please…pretty please with sugar on top… *insert sad puppy dog face with eyes filled with pleading tears here* ... Ok I will.
I’d really like my sequel please. :D
This book just made me happy and was precisely what I needed when I started it. So glad I read it! Sweet, adorable and wonderful! The little bits of incongruous character traits that helped flesh out these characters just added to the fabulousness for me. Can’t wait for more!

I've been meaning to read this for a long time, but the never ending TBR kept getting in the way. I FINALLY got to it though and let me tell you...I LOVED Fee and Ash!
What didn't I like? Ash's friends. My heart was breaking for him. I was a party girl before I became old. I am only 32, but the hangovers make me feel 90. I've been the girl that is at the bar every single night. I've been the girl who's priorities are all mixed up. I GOT Ash. When he wanted to change and his "friends" were basically making fun of him? Not cool. Not cool at all. Just because he decided to grow up doesn't mean anything. I had to drop a lot of my friends, okay, almost all of them, because I was ready to grow up and they weren't. I didn't need it in my life and I was glad that Ash didn't let his friends change his mind in pursuing Fee. Hell, even his brother and brother's girlfriend were assholes. UGH! I did not like anybody associated with Ash, besides Fee.
I LOVED watching Ash grow up. It was a great transformation. I loved how he took chances and didn't care. He did things out of his comfort zone just because he wanted to get to know someone. I didn't like how Ash was sex obsessed, but I got over that. My question is would he really leave Fee if Fee said no?
Fee? Yeah, I liked him too. Some may not, but I understood him. His hot and coldness? Spot on! I understood and would have acted the same way.
I didn't want this story to end. I loved it. My only concern is that Ty's the main MC in the next book and I didn't like him in this one. How am I supposed to read a book about someone I can't stand?

I really, really, really enjoyed this! I loved the "guides" at the beginning of each section of chapters. (and I totally understood everything they were talking about too! haha) and I really enjoyed the characters and story in this. I was frustrated with Ash for being so jealous, and then with Fee for being so elusive and not fully "getting" him, but I overall really enjoyed the writing, especially towards the end.
Hope there will be more with this series, like what's up with Ty?

I need this for a reading challenge but the mc Ash is so annoying and his actions make him so unlikable for me I can't stand to read anymore
3.5 stars rounded down. Cute opposites-attract romance between the deceptively shallow butterfly and the shy nerd. I didn't like it as much as I expected to -- I'm getting sick of tattoos already, have them or don't have them, but don't use them as a thumbnail sketch of a character's personality -- Ash is a likeable enough guy, Fee is incommunicative to the point that he maybe needs a brain scan, and the story is riddled with secondary and tertiary characters whose own stories are left hanging.
Ended up liking the characters by the end but felt like I had to slog through the first 3/4 of the book.
