Simple text for tracking/pointing. I really like that she can cheer herself up and that she can pick herself up when she falls down. Independence! :)

This was the first book I've ever read by myself. I read it in kindergarten, 9 years ago.

I read this to my daughter and it opened a dialog I did not think we needed. Opened my mind that my 5 year old has insecurities. Long story short, we both enjoyed this book. It will help us both remember to love ourselves no matter what!

A cute, body-positive picture book about loving yourself and being comfortable with who you are. Really great for younger readers but I loved it too! :)

This was (I believe) intended to be an encouraging book for young girls in regard to all the things they can do on their own or alone. I greatly admire independence as a characteristic in people, but this seemed really depressing.

Preschoolers adored the simple, cheery illustrations and caretakers appreciate the positive message.

This is unusually strong for a self-esteem book, since it focus on overall self-love instead of emphasizing particular talents or saying that you're better than other people. It also demonstrates enjoying solo activities, and being your own friend, instead of your self-esteem being tied to other people admiring you.
