I remember this being a really good book on Christian Community.
I'm definitely planning on re-reading it soon.

This is a little book with lots of toe-stepping going on.

Half the time, I was floored by the simple power of what Bonhoeffer suggests (around communal worship in song and Scripture reading, especially) and half the time, I feel like he is completely unreasonable in the expectations of community for those who are poor, infirm, or wrestle with mental health and neurological issues.

Life together is...thorny.

I thought this book was helpful and concise. I enjoyed most of it. However I do think there are some minor translational issues. It seems that a lot of the poetry is lost but that is just speculation.

An essential guidebook for how to cultivate Christian community in its purest form: through intention and sincerity that is Christ-centered and interdependent. While not a simple read, I was greatly enlightened and encouraged by all that Bonhoeffer outlines in this slender volume, and blessed by my own community which has been reading it together and taking it to heart. If you are entering into a season in which doing life together is a priority, I can't recommend this book highly enough.

This book didn’t lend itself well to audio, but I’ve marked it as a four-star read because it piqued my interest as writing I may sit down and examine (like I would a textbook) in the future.
