The edition I read was in 1995, I believe. This was an invaluable resource that I never would have been able to tackle a European trip without. I made it through 5 weeks and 11 countries. This is my travel bible.

SUPER helpful for a first time traveler!! The middle was a little obvious for those who have traveled internationally, yet still very thoughtful reminders!

As we’re getting ready for Ireland, this book was perfect to skim and an excellent resource to be an expert traveler. This guy is amazing!!

Dated I am sure by the time I read in 2021, but still some useable tips and ideas.

An excellent volume of travel advice and recommendations, vividly illustrated by Rick Steve's anecdotes and examples. Highly recommend, my favorite travel book I've read so far. Updated and current, striking the right balance in between the importance of both efficiency and finding local experiences.

I have an earlier edition of this book, it gets updated, but the major basic parts of the book remain the same. This book convinced me that I could afford a trip to Europe on a part time retail income. It truly was my "europe bible" I read parts of it daily in the months leading to my first trip.

The likelihood of me traveling internationally is very slim, however I loved reading up on Europe and found some interesting insight that I could even use when traveling locally here in the states.
