In defeating the last of the Dark Triad of the Spade Kingdom, our main character's main rival essentially beats himself.
(if i had a nickel for every time two boys made a vow to achieve the same dream, with one being a loudmouth with lighter hair and the other being a more sullen dark-haired boy, i'd have two nickels!)
AND OF COURSE THAT BOY WHO IS SO BLESSED BY MAGIC GETS A 2ND POWER-UP THAT GIVES HIM THE EDGE!
because naturally when a king & queen whose magic centered around the Sun and Moon respectively have a child, that kid's got STAR magic...NATURALLY!

BUT GUESS WHAT?! The Dark Triad had a secret FOURTH member and he made everything worse!
So what does our intrepid guild of misfits do?
FORM A BIG-ASS BULL MEGAZORD AND PUNCH THE UNHOLY-MASS-OF-DEMONS KAIJU IN THE FACE!
...
Gorrammit, I love this series.

So we're having an emotion scene where Yami is flashing back to when he met & recruited each member of his brigade...and I have to burst out laughing cuz Charmy got suckered in by the ol' trail-of-food-leading-to-a-basket trap! As we never heard the story of how she joined the guild in the first place, THIS IS CANON!

Overall, I would say I liked it and that I am pretty satisfied. The majority of this book is dedicated to the fight between Zenon and Yuno (along with some others like Langris). With Vanica and Megicula gone, the heroes focus on Zenon as the last member of the Triad. To be honest, Zenon's backstory was super cliche and did not interest me at all. The fight itself was fine but I was expecting Yuno to power up which did happen of course. The last few chapters were more interesting to me since it focuses on the Black Bulls and the legend himself; Yami. The series is about to be finished (1-2 or volumes I would assume).
