Okay so although this book wasn't awful it was very predictable. Like oh wow I totally never saw that coming even though that plot was so obvious it was punching me in the face. Besides the part where she gouged out the eye wasn't expecting that, now biting that off predictable. But then again that might be my fault for reading into it so much and not being able to keep my mind from wandering. But I am just going to consider that a moot point. But no on a serious matter I don't really have a lot to say about it besides the fact that it was forgettable extremely forgettable. I only read this a month ago and yet I can hardly remember what happened, meanwhile some books I can tell you all the plot twists, characters, etc while having read them 10-12 months ago. So yeah forgettable and predictable are the two adjectives I will use to describe this book.

I very nearly DNF'd this book.

Chiara is sold into human trafficking. Rather than being bought by any of the men at the auction, Killian DeLorenzo, the leader of the Romanian mafia, shows up and takes her as his own.

Chiara is angry at being drugged on the way to Killian's home but quickly adapts to the life of luxury at his estate.  She can't leave, of course.  Later in the book she insinuates that she was trying to resist him but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Their connection was forced and neither character was particularly interesting. Chiara was probably the most oblivious fmc I've ever read.

Killian really isn't much better. He tells her he wants her as his wife for real, not just on paper. She sleeps in his room for the first time and when she wakes up, he tells he she has to leave for good.

Any traumatic events were basically glossed over and the fmc had little to no reaction. An emotionless character is hard to connect or empathize with.

The last 20% of this book which WAS somewhat decent, should have happened in the middle of the book. Her husband is the most dangerous man in the country but...she doesn't trust him to handle his second in command?

Despite the blurb sounding like something I would absolutely love, this book just wasn't for me.

When Sheridan says Darkest Sin, she means it. This book was dark, sinful, and perfect. She takes all of your darkest desires and puts them in words. This book left me with a hangover. I didn’t know what to read after this boom was done. I still have to words for this boo it’s that good.
