I feel like I say it in every review I write for a Sierra Simone book, but she just gets it. Now I just need for her to write a full length queer historical. I just appreciate that her books have actual stakes, compelling characters, and a romance that you root for. Thank you for some good food queen one day I might read the het stuff you write.
The audio of this is DIVINE. Shane East and James Joseph are two of my favorite narrators and their performances did not disappoint in this story! Sierra Simone is hit or miss for me, but this was one that I loved. It was a sweet MM story with the right amount of spice. I love a good sassy, cocky character and you find that in Sandy. He's not afraid to get what he wants and will do pretty much whatever to get it. The writing was good and I liked the way that both characters discovered how they felt for each other and their realizations that this wasn't just some fling, a little fun during.
I enjoyed this novella much more than the first in the series! For a very short story (and audiobook), I felt like the characters and their relationship to one another had more depth to it. And I enjoyed the amount of pining Peregrine brought to the table.

JAMES JOSEPH AND SHANE EAST DO SUCH A GOOD JOB WITH THIS NARRATION!!!! I am beyond, I enjoyed this so much! The ending is completely ridiculous (the whole concept is obviously silly to enjoy, since if it happened in real life there'd be no positives, but the ending is even sillier) but it's still a well-told story! Peregrine is stoopid, Sandy is stoopider, the token "girl" in the crew is also the only one with brains, and the conflict was pretty quickly solved which makes sense because it is a short read!
This is far tamer than some other Sierra Simone books I've read, but I've seen another reviewer saying it was way spicy so... maybe our expectations were different!

This Far Hope book takes place further in the past than the previous one and I really loved it. Peregrine, a highway robber man, is seeking revenge on the Duke by robbing all of the guests that go to visit Far Hope. He kidnaps Alexander aka Sandy, the Dukeβs younger brother and heir, and Sandy is the brattiest character in the world. As a captive he says, you should tie me up, then the moment they tie him up he gets aroused. It is so funny how much he tops from the bottom. Peregrine eventually just gives in to him because he can't stand all of the pent-up frustration that keeps happening. The two of them together is so beautiful and they have to figure out how they can exist together in this world with their different stations.
I AM BOYCOTTING SIERRA SIMONE BECAUSE SHE IS IN ALIGNMENT WITH CHLOE LIESE. I'm not even gonna bother editing my long ass post from my Chloe Liese's reviews. If anything, I want more people to know about what they did now.
