I couldn't put his one down! Story keeps getting more exciting and interesting. Great characters. Everyone has an agenda, mysteries linger, but want more Perenelle

Maybe better than the first but seriously Josh is annoying me
and no one seems to be mad at all his shenanigans except me!

Seems like it would be really fun for kids, and fairly well written with lots of nifty little references to historical and mythological characters and themes . . .

Another great book in the series. I'm a huge sucker for mythology-based books and Scott writes at just the right level for me when I need some not-so-cerebral reading.

This was a fun addition to the series. I love a middle grade, chosen one, adventure romp, and exploring the streets of Paris was incredibly fun. I love seeing the historical and mythological figures popping up in this. Josh and Sophie are 15, and do really read their age. Josh can be very petulant and jealous, but it reads very realistically. The battles in this were incredibly entertaining and I can’t wait to read Book 3!

The series is alright, but the "oh, we need something bigger and meaner. yay our heroes can beat that no problem" problem is starting to show.

I read the second book in this series because I didn't want to give up on the series without giving it a fair chance. Welp. I gave it a chance and now I now I don't want to read any more. The writing is poor, the characters are annoying, and there are too many illogical or unexplained shifts in the storyline. Save yourself the time and don't bother reading these books.
