Interesting reading this and remembering what was going on in the world/youtube at the time this was written.

I have been wanting to read this book for a while and finally did it. Overall, it’s great! I love how after Connor’s personal story there was a life lesson. I learned a few things that I will definitely be using in life. However, I felt as if the pictures included didn’t make sense with the chapter or section. Other than that, I highly recommend this book!

In his memoir, Connor Franta shares his journey of self-discovery, growth, and creativity. Through a mix of personal essays, photography, and reflections he opens up about his upbringing in the midwest through his rise to fame as a YouTuber while struggling with his identity, mental health, and finding his true self. This memoir is a celebration of embracing imperfections and learning to navigate the complexities of life.
I read this memoir for the first time in 7th grade and I just reread it for the 4th time I think as a freshman in college so my feelings have definitely changed over the course of the last 6 or so years. I think that this memoir is great for younger teens who haven't yet fully discovered who they are but I agree with some other people's sentiments that most of this has been said before as well as the fact that most people wouldn't write a memoir at the age of 22. I do empathize with and relate to his struggles with mental health and I think that is a large part of why I enjoyed this book so much when I first read it and why I still enjoy it now. While I don't think that this memoir is groundbreaking in any way I do think that this could be helpful for someone who really needs it and I also acknowledge that as someone who has never watched one of his YouTube videos, this book probably didn't affect me as much as someone who had already been invested in his journey through life.

A am a big fan of Connor. I love his work and think he is hilarious, but I was not wowed by this book. It felt very raw and genuine, which I love in biographies and memoirs, and the writing was great for someone that is not a professional author. However, at times the messages he was trying to send felt a little repetitive (although they were important points). I also wish that there were more stories in the novel. He told quite a few, but they were all interesting and I would have loved to hear more. Altogether, I liked the book, but I did not think that it was excellent. Though I would recommend it if you are a fan of biographies and are looking for a quick read. :)

I don't know if I'm giving this a 4 or 4.5 but I can tell you that it was definitely worth the read. it's an easy read. and it doesn't feel like a memoir. it just feels like the author is talked to you about life and his life. it's chill. I like it

First of all, congratulations to Connor for winning the Choice Awards!
I remember when I first stumbled across this book at Costco on my birthday, I scanned the cover for the author name. Connor Franta. Legit thought that came to my mind was, "Hey, Connor wrote a book?" So of course I had to pick it up out of sheer curiosity for this guy on the internet's work.
INSPIRING AND TOUCHING
I finished this much later because as I read it, I felt like Connor Franta was there on my lounging couch, telling me about his life very differently from how he usually is on camera. This book was like the behind the scenes of a Connor Franta video, almost a vlog that is from beginning of his life to current day. It's so interesting because I'm usually not an autobiography reader but I'm glad I was willing to try this novel, although I might just be biased hehe. I learned so much about him with a short period of time but also realized that everyone, if not just him and myself, face a downfall in life and only time can tell what you'll make out of it. Really great read but also inspiring.

Read this book as a reread and for the O.W.L’s readathon 2020. It is still a 5⭐️ read, and it is definitely one of my favourite books. It is also the first book I annotated☺️
