I can tell Lainey’s character was meant to be this flawed character with emotional damage redeemed by her lovable, charismatic personality, but I just found her wildly unlikable. It made her whole part of the story hard to care about. Any time her friends tried to be kind to her, it was kind of annoying because she didn’t really deserve it. The book also felt way too long in some ways, but the relationships developed out of thin air, which was weird. All in all, not my favorite Emily Giffin, but it wasn’t terrible

Lainey as a character was pretty insufferable. The ending felt very rushed and abrupt. I liked the three perspectives, but at a certain point their voices changed and that’s when the story sort of went off track for me. This is a fine read, just nothing I felt that was outstanding or remarkable. Based off of the hype around this book I think I just expected something different.

It’s ok, I feel like I wanted more. And ending seemed super abrupt
